ABOUT JEANETTE:
Jeanette Bill-Cole has lived in northeast Ohio her entire life. Bill-Cole finds inspiration in traditional beauty: flowers, light captured at sea, the intricate play of color and form. She looks for renewal and assurance in capturing nature.
She received training at the Cleveland Institute of Art and continues to take workshops with well known artists like Chris Leeper, Cathy Welner, David Rankin, Lana Privitera and many others. She has exhibited at juried shows in Cuyahoga Valley Art Center, Brecksville Art Center, Ursuline College Florence O’Donnell Wasmer Gallery (OWS show.)
Jeanette Bill-Cole’s subject matter are typically derived from travel or her home experiences. Lighthouses, Provence, the Oregon coast and gardening are typical things she chooses to paint. Since the 1990s Bill-Cole has worked almost exclusively in watercolors attempting to gain deeper mastery of this challenging medium. The need for a quick articulation is what she finds most stimulating. She works from photographs and plein air.
MEMBERSHIPS: Akron Society of Artists, Urban Sketchers, Cleveland Ohio Watercolor Society.
“When you paint, try to put down exactly what you see. Whatever else you have to offer will come out anyway.” -Winslow Homer
