PLOT:

“El Virus” begins on Mars in the year 3125, in the laboratory of a mad scientist, E-klon Muck.  E-Klon is working tirelessly to create a Master Formula that will lead to world domination on planet earth.

All is going as planned as E-Klon sends a missile to planet earth to infect the Dino Nugget Headquarters with a virus that will turn everyone who eats Dino Nuggets into a zombie vampire.  But alas, the plan goes awry when E-Klon’s only daughter, Sarah devours a pile of Dino Nuggets at the “Do Eat Here Diner.” and slowly succumbs to the virus.

Dr. Ed is quickly summoned to provide a remedy before the virus takes hold of Sarah.  Just when all seems lost, Dr. Ed discovers that the toenails of the polar bears that live on Mars hold the secret ingredient to the cure for the virus!  (Polar bears were sent by rocket to Mars back in 2027, when they were becoming extinct due to loss of ice habitat at the North Pole.)

All seems to be working out well for E-Klon until he realizes that something changed when Sarah was cured of the virus.   Upon waking up from a deep sleep, Sarah realizes she has now become a kind and caring person, whereas before she was a mean bully who didn’t care if she caused pain for anyone.

And so….. the stage is set for the ultimate showdown between father and daughter.

Will E-Klon subdue his daughter and force her to join him on his quest for world domination?  Or will Sarah start a rebellion against her father and force him to retreat?   Join us at the African Community Theatre, Oscar Richie Hall, Kent State University,”opening Friday, May 16,  2025. 7:30pm.

ABOUT THE NEW WORLD CHILDREN'S THEATRE

The New World Children’s Theater began as The New World Puppet Theater at the North Water Street Gallery in Kent, Ohio, in January of 1993. Originally, it was comprised of home-school children.Throughout the years , however, it has grown to include public-schooled children as well. Eventually, the troupe outgrew the puppets and the ensemble became The New World Children’s Theater, which has produced 38 plays since 1994. In addition to the emphasis on original play writing, the company is dedicated to using recycled materials in the construction of its sets and props. This fosters an understanding of a sustainable planet as well as an understanding of how to work with limited resources. The only requirement is a creative mind.

The New World Children’s Theatre is always looking for donations to support students from low income families as well as our ongoing activities. Donations are tax deductible and can be made to Standing Rock Cultural Arts, 300 N. Water St., Suite H., Kent, Ohio 44240.

Thank you for supporting the kids.
